EPISODE:
This morning has I was looking through the packet of material for tutoring, I noticed there were two math quizzes, that we were to do and they were timed. They were the multiple's of seven and nine, so I decided to write her a practice page in my note book to help her remember before she is timed on the quizzes. While she was doing the practice sheet I gave her little hints to help her remember some of the ones she was having trouble with. After she was done with the worksheet I made for her, she took the quizzes and she did not do very well with her sevens, but she got all the nines right. While she was taking the quizzes she would say she was done after she finished answering all the ones she knew and I told her to try to do the ones she did not know, because she still had a minute left.
ANALYSIS:
The practice sheet and the things I told her while she was doing the practice sheet helped her, especially with her nine's. I told her if there was a problem she couldn't get like 7x7 and she knew what 7x6 was the only thing she needed to do is to add 7 to 42 and that is the answer to 7x7. On the nine's I told her if she knew that 9x5 was 45 and she did not know what 9x6 was, she could add 10 to 45 which was 55 and then take one away from that and it would give her the answer, 54. Add 10 and take 1 away from any of the nines she did not know, if she knew the one ahead of it. I thought it might be to confusing for her, but she understood that and that is way she got all of her nines done.
PILLARS ADDRESSED:
I used my teaching skills to try to prepare her for the quizzes she took today. I also used my decision-making skills by deciding to make her a little practice sheet before we did the quizzes.

8:15-9:30 a.m. Watched a video on classroom management
9:30-10:25 a.m. Observation of Mrs. Evans 1st grade class
Episode:
I had a lot of difficulty with my tutoring session this morning. She acted like she did not want to complete any of the work that she was supposed to complete. She had a lot of difficulty with her vocabulary words and a few of her spelling words. Then she tried to complete her midyear assessment for math when she started guessing when trying to complete the problems. Mrs. VanMeter had discussed with me before our tutoring session that when she tried to complete the midyear assessment on Monday she had guessed and did poorly. She wanted her to retake the assessment. I had to point out that she needed to set up the problems so she could work it out to get the correct answer. She just completely quit answering my questions when trying to redirect her attention.
Analysis:
My intrapersonal skills were tested today. I tried a few different approaches to helping her complete her work. I felt like I was not getting through to her today. This was the most problems I have had with her staying on task and feeling like she knew what to do to complete the task at hand. I need to learn more approaches to redirect her to complete a task. I feel like I could have done more to help her if she would have felt like completing her work today.
